Every day I went to work, the rules were clear — no nail polish, no artificial nails. Infection control. Patient safety. I understood it completely. But I also went home after every shift, made wudu, and was reminded again that nail polish wasn't an option for me there either.

I was a nurse and a Muslim. Two reasons I could never have the nails I wanted. I searched everywhere for something that worked around both. Nothing existed.
